Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account to use Scratchy?

No. Scratchy works fully offline with no sign-in required. Every mode (Magic Pictures, Dot to Dot, Mazes, Colouring Pages, Squiggle, and Free Scratch) is unlocked from the moment you open the app.

My drawing disappeared. Can I get it back?

Scratchy saves your artwork automatically to your device as you go, and every saved piece lives in the Gallery. If a drawing is missing from the Gallery, it was most likely never saved, for example if the app was closed mid-drawing before autosave ran. Drawings are saved on your device only, so they are not recoverable once deleted or if the app is uninstalled.

How do Mystery Cards work?

A Mystery Card is a scratch-art picture you send to a friend as a short link. Open a drawing, tap Share, and choose Mystery Card. The recipient opens the link and scratches away the cover just like you would in the app, no account needed on either end.

Can I use my own photos?

Yes. Magic Pictures, Colouring Pages, and Dot to Dot can all be generated from a photo you choose. Photos are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded anywhere, except as part of a Mystery Card you choose to share.

Why did the black cover come back after I scratched it away?

It has not, your progress is saved. If a drawing looks blank or fully covered again after reopening the app, try opening it from the Gallery rather than starting a new one. If the issue persists, please contact us below with your device type and iOS or Android version so we can look into it.

Does Scratchy show ads or collect my data?

No. Scratchy has no ads, no analytics, and no tracking in the iOS and Android apps. When you use sharing features like Mystery Cards or Collaborative Drawing, drawing data is transmitted to enable the sharing, but no personal information is collected. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

How do I delete a drawing?

Open the Gallery, tap Select, choose the drawing or drawings you want to remove, then tap Delete.
